Jasper, I used a 100 - 300 zoom lens. A group of 4 of us went up to park in the fall, and spotted 2 of these grouse on the side of the road. Another photographer pulled up with us, and 5 of us were out in the middle of the highway taking shots of this very cooperative bird. (Early morning, sun just rising, perfect lighting...and for once no traffic.) We all shot about 2 rolls of film on this guy until one of the park rangers came driving by in his truck...beeped his horn as a hello...and scared the bird away.
Nan...When I was thinking of "wildlife", was thinking "lions and tigers and bears"...LOL! Okay, smaller critters too from now on...*grin*
