About	Madeline came to our rescue from a local shelter. Her right rear leg was severely infected, but her personality was luminous. This photo captures her sweetness well, I think. Madeline was too young and too small to have her leg amputated, so we had to wait until she was either 2 pounds in weight or until the leg fell off. Her leg fell off, so we took her in and had the rest of it amputated. Madeline is doing very well, and we have a family lined up to adopt her as soon as her surgical wounds heal.

Her eyes say it all "How could someone abandon me?". Thank you for sharing the picture and such an emotional story. I love cats and recently myself adopted a kitten who had been abandoned. He's "Hemlock" in some of my photos.

Good luck at the shelter and hopefully the ASPCA can nab the person(s) who abused her and your others.
