The crack pattern and the erie, highlight in the middle keep the eye mving to the background, keeping the mountains darker makes you notice them after you've taken the journey across the mudflats.

Nice composition. The highlight feels awkward as it leads my eyes toward the background where it's loosing color. perhaps move yourself or the light source towards the foreground to lead into that more. mud crack images are quite overdone though. try going back there, lose yourself and play around with perspective more.
