About Photo taken using Olympus Camedia C-750 UltraZoom: ISO 400, f/3.2, 1/250s. Imaging technique: Afocal method (camera handheld directly over the eyepiece of a small 80mm telescope, magnification set at approximately 18.75x). Picture cropped and color-balanced using Microsoft Picture Editor. Note that this picture shows a laterally inverted (horizontal flip) image due to refractor telescope characteristics. I did not digitally flip this image.

Hi Deniz,
I explained to another person earlier how I did it:-
"I used a small telescope of focal 600mm and aperture 80mm. I took it using afocal method, that is pointing my camera (handheld) directly over the eyepiece of the telescope. It is a similar technique as that used in 'digiscoping' for bird photography."

You can try to search the internet to learn more on "digiscoping" or "afocal imaging". Cheers!

Hi Debarshi,
Thanks for the wonderful comment. The Moon holds a certain mystical appeal to us, doesn't it? Cheers!

Hi James,
Thanks for the encouraging comment. You can read the details on how I did it. Similar to "digiscoping". Cheers!

Hi Lisa,
Thanks. Sure you can try. It's all about learning from one another. I used a technique similar to "digiscoping" in bird photography. It is not difficult and yields rewarding results. Cheers!

Oops, typo error there. The trick, not the tick... LOL

Ah! Well that explains quite a lot. I was wondering how you got such fantastic resolution from the camera you were using.

Great shot!

Thanks Charlotte for your comments.

You can take photos like that. There is this technique called "digiscoping" in bird-photography. Do an internet search for it and you will learn more. It is not that difficult to do. The tick is to use eyepieces of long relief (about 20mm would be good).

Cheers!

Well, this moon shot puts mine to shame...what focal length was this taken at?

Great work!
