About I dont have much time available so I decided to upload a few photos that I have done a while ago. Will catch up with you all as soon as I can. Thanks for visiting!!

Found this traditional healer with a group of followers/fellow healers next to the Silver River near George, collecting bark, leaves, roots etc. for the preparation of tradional medicine. Although South Africa has an advanced medical system, it is not readily available to the poorest of the population, while even healthy people still prefer the services of a traditional healer. The white head cloth and white clay around the eyes are, according to them, to enhance their visibility to their forefarthers who reside underneath the water. To frighten the forefarthers by suddenly appearing next to the water is seen as a bad omen.

An absolutely wonderful expressive portrait that makes even more sense when reading the description. The eyes has a touch of insanity and desperation to them.
South Africa sure seems to be a strange blend of modern life and ancient bushcultures. I belive both cultures have something to offer because we as humans need a blend of spirituality, faith and knowledge. Only it can be difficult finding the right balance.
Best wishes,
Annemette

Fantastic! I love this one... the angle you've shot this at really brings out the most of his features... & the expression in his face shows his mystique... those eyes... very deep... feel as if he is searching my soul. Excellent Joggie x

Powerful imgage, Joggie! The DOF is so shallow, but the composition works because of the strong character/characteristics in the face.

Joggie, it is an exceptional photograph. In eyes and the face of this man power, strength of the culture, in which he was brought up, fear and the magic are. Beliefs and the faith are mighty. As so mighty as the nature... It is everything apparently on your photograph. I am congratulating.
Viola.
