Hi larry, now this what i call a great close up.
My only thought would be to run the image through a noise reduction program, like Neat Image or Noise Ninja as you may have used a high ISO level.

Great shot. This isn't the traditional approach to photographing butterflies, excluding the wings, but with such wonderful detail on the body this works a treat! It's almost 3D. CC
