Hi Sam,
This is really nice and soooo interesting.
First I've got to say I just love the expressions on these kids faces... This is Priceless and makes Me want to see what they are viewing !!!!
Next the texture of these rocks, or stones and the colors are great. The light that seems to be in the hole wall is amazing....
Extra nice image Sam !! Very nicely shown here. 7/7 Thanks for sharing.

You are absolutely right on the overbun comment. But it was an immense bright sunny day and the sun shun right at the other end of the hall and a bit into the hole. I made about 10 pictures with all kind of settings (this one has fill flash) but none was perfect (at least not correctly exposed). I attached one of the other pics to this message.

It's now more than 2 years since we last met on these pages, Sam. It seems that your other 17 or so hobbies have taken the upper hand. I like this photo but to be honest, the sky & the upper part of the hair is a bit blown out. I don't really know how this might have been prevented. Perhaps by lowering exposure & using a fill-flash.
Be that as it may, I thank you for your very kind comment on my photo. It was taken quite a few years ago, on film. Recently I mostly scan ancient photos.

This is a wonderful composition Sam thoughtfully posed and captured with excellence. The colour tones are lovely and the details have great clarity.......I know I have 'met' you before but you seemed to disappear for some while. Thank you Vanessa... I took about 20 pictures and only 1 or 2 were presentable... The very bright background spolit the most, despite the fill in flash
