ok i see josh. Some people like the "grainy" look, i don't. Anyway, it's good picture, i really like the composition. It has a nice feel.

thanks for the comment Henrick. I normally use 160 NC portra, but because this was going to be an indoor/outdoor affair, I chose to use the 400 VC. I can remove most of the noise with a program like Neat Image... but, I'll leave it up to the bride, she had expressed to me prior to the wedding that she was excited to have her wedding shot with film because she likes the "grainy" look... so we'll see.

Very good, it looks like it's from a movie. I can see the troubles you had with the lighting, tough one. But i think you used the wrong film. Kodak Portra 400 VC is good at bringing out the colors in you image. Ilford FP4 125 would've been a much better choice. It's is finer grain and also handle contrast better.

CL, the lighting was very difficult for this wedding.. bright sun in the middle of the day :( If I tried to expose the images so the brides dress wasn't a giant hot spot, everything was under exposed... and vice versa.

While the overall composition of the shot is very good, there are a few issues to address. My biggest concern with the image is the loss of any detail in the bridal gown. This is also the problem with the dark/black of the men's tuxes. This might be due to the level of contrast. I do like the idea of the shot in sepia.
