Thanks Lisa! You still live there? They had very little rain Sunday . . . barely enough to ruin a good car wash! Up at Redondo Beach / Lawndale we had only a bit . . . and that was at night. But good clouds, huh?

Oh yeah Michele . . . they live here all right! The fence you see in the lower foreground with the X on it has been put up to stop people from coming to the side I took the shot from. Cliffs and dangerous ground (believe me) and though it's fenced off and posted "No Trespassing" and enforced by local law enforcement agencies . . . there were a lot of people over there. By going over to the historical lighthouse . . . you can literally walk around the fence! I walked to the edge of several cliffs to shoot downwards and ended up dizzy with weak knees at the view. Besides - it was making Marlyce nervous too! I saw a statue of a head on the center balcony. Very unique view.

Thanks John . . . a new method for conversions . . . a tad more complicated but it works even in PS Elements 2.0 and above and allows a lot more range and adjustments too. Appreciate the comment.

Interesting image Doyle... do people still live here ? It looks like people do ...in one way but kind of like they don't in another way... ? Nice architecture, and composition. I personally find this interesting as it appears to be a monster of house!

Highly effective B&W conversion. And that is one fine terrace - guess the local planning authority figured it would self-destruct in due course so let it stay...

Thanks for the instructions! Perfect and looks do-able even for me as a beginner. As for the property, you are so right about beachfront value, assuming you don't go underwater at high tide. Location-location-location. --Jan

Hi Jan:
No - I build the frame and this has become a favorite of mine. I'm not a fan of the MANY stock frames I was supplied with . . . though a few are interesting. Here's How:
Put a 2mm black expansion on the canvas. Then a drop shadow. Then I expand canvas down only about 1/2 inch (white) depending on the size of the canvas. Select BG layer and go to enhance < Color < Replace color. Sample the outside of the drop shadow white area and change the color to f3f3f3 which is the UF BG color. Then I add text UNDER the image so as to keep the image clean. Works very well for me.
I'm also curious about the property value. On the one hand . . . Shazam! You're beachfront property. On the other . . . [you can still see broken pavement in the ocean (so one has to wonder] . . . for how long?!!

Wonder what that did to the property value:) By the way, I like the frame you made on this photo. Did you build it or use a stock template? I have some precanned actions for frame effects that came with PS but do not recall this being one of them. --Jan

It's funny too Jan . . . everything from this house to the ocean fell into the ocean . . . now it sits on the edge. The fence you see (which I'm on the OTHER side of . . . is broken cliffs to the sea and posted as no trespassing).
