Lydia - Thanks. And this one is so much like your Owlet...
I will be posting some more traditional photographs later this week.

James, you certainly manage to get a lot of reaction with your portfolio - different, for sure, I'd even go as far as "unique". Not my cup of tea, but then again, I'm a boring traditionalist...!

For a while, I had quite a few of jude's images as my screen saver. Thing is, while they may look too dark here for some (and I suspect monitor issues most of the time), they're incredibly beautiful and hypnotic when viewed in full screen.
Thank god my monitor is calibrated and I can so enjoy this darkness... and your extraordinary vision.

Marija - Thanks. Yeah, I looked at it lighter but I have a preference for unmanipulated posts and since the lightening didn't make it significantly better I felt there was no point. So up went the original. I think if it were made into a good sized print these tones would be at their best--it's just on these small images on monitors where the dark makes it tougher to see all the details.

This is interesting. Again, i agree with the title, as the circular shapes don't remind me only of human features, but of an owl as well (symbol of wisdom). I wish it was a tad lighter, but the darkness here doesn't bother me, actually.

Oh, I think about it. I think "it's going to be such and such a way they react" and sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't. What more is there?

Well, you must think about the reaction of those who view your photos, too, James.:)

Tuna - Thanks. I like the line over in the upper right corner; it's like one small strand of gray hair on his head.

Shirley - Thanks. I did take a look at a contrast altered version myself. I went with the out of camera shot mostly because it was legible and I prefer to show the out of camera where possible.

Mary - Luxagraphia is a style of photography I have been developing for quite some time now. If you click on the link for my Portfolio Luxagraphia you will see a pretty lengthy description of what goes into the style. I'm always happy to answer any questions you might have too. Thanks for looking. Glad you like this shot.

It does look like a face, but is way too dark. Here is a version where I boosted the contrast considerably.

I am not sure what you mean by 'luxagraphically'.? It looks very intriguing and a little timely with hallowe'en just around the corner. MAry
