I got there before sunrise, and so it was just me and a security guard. He moseys on over, and asks, "So, this thing's not going anywhere. WHY would you get out of a warm bed on a Sunday morning to shoot this thing when you can come here anytime?"
I pointed at the sun, just beginning to peek over the lake, and said "THAT'S not gonna be there all day, and I wanted it to fully illuminate the buildings behind me. They're in shade by mid-day."
He nodded appreciatively. He clearly was waiting eagerly for his rendezvous with a warm bed...soon.

Ha, I see you've visited Chicago before. The bean is everyone's favorite photo subject, but this one I like.

Sure 'nuff, that's me Dave. From that angle, I was smack in the middle of the shot, but wanted to reduce my profile as much as possible, thus the crouching Canon, Hidden Photo. ;)

This art sure does make for some interesting photographs. I think that is you, squatting by the rail? Good thinking, minimizing your own reflection. Almost didn't spot you..... most people wouldn't think of that.
Best wishes, Dave

Thanks, Ani. I'm the one crouching in the corner, so as not to disrupt the lines of the handrail, since this angle made it impossible to NOT be in the shot.
