Thank you for your thoughtful critique, Steve. And especially for taking the time to create an edited version of this shot to illustrate what you meant... I appreciate it very much... I hope you'll comment on some of the other images in my gallery if you feel moved to do so. Thanks again. :)

Thanks so much for your comment, Mehul. I have the original shot in my gallery here but all I did in PS for this image was to tint it blue... So instead of it being a creamy white flower and green leaves, it's this cool blue... Sorry, I took so long to respond to your comment but I really do appreciate it.

This is a terrific, lovely composition, Kim. I wish there were a little more definition in the center of the flower, and the shot needs no frame. At least remove the white border, which is a bit overpowering. Having nothing to do with that, but to show how nicely the photo could be altered give an entirely different look, I mocked up an example (below) for which I used a multiply filter. I hope you like it. Very nice work. Steve

Thank you for your critique, AJ... Do you mean that the overall image needs more sharpness or that if the background wasn't out of focus, that it would work better?

Brilliant concept, but for me it needs to have a little more sharpness to be a winner.

I agree with you, Parvin. Moreso because the flower is 'exquisite' (as you said) than because of my ability as a photographer to capture this - heehee. Thank you for your comment.

I'm thrilled you like this image so much and that you added it to your faves. The flower really was just about perfect - I just was lucky to capture it at this moment and with the raindrops on it... Thank you very much.
