About Used the Box Fitting Image algortithm by j.tarbell at complexification dot net on a photograph five times, then layered the results together into a composite. The result is a strange abstraction of the original.

I was surprised at the result, rather close to the original, and has a really neat feel to it.

But what do you think? That's what's important. Critique away!

Again, a wonderful process with fascinating results. It's so good to see you experimenting with these programs, Michael. Love it, love it, love it.

This one has the background of a turn of the century painter Gustav Klimt from Vienna. you are going back in time away from Chucky...lol
The effect is fascinating as well as engrossing.
I don't mind the square around the mouth as it forces the eyes to become the focus of attention.

Ina:

Chuck Close. Funny you mention that...

...but he's a lot more talented.

Interesting process and result, Michael, but I agree the box over the mouth either has to signify "silence" or it's best without. The background reminds me of vinyl floors from the 70's, both in color & design, which is a retro touch. Otherwise I prefer the face close-up with more visible pattern, unless you're printing the whole body large.
Are you familiar with the artist Chuck Close? Ina

Joggie:

Looking at this again given your comment I think I understand what I need to do. The boxes are randomly generated, but since this is made up of 5 seperate runs layered together next time I can keep running until I get a cleaner look around the areas of interest.

Surreal, yet very creative! Very ineresting Michal. Iwould prefer smaller boxes (slightly)around the facial area though - especialy that on light coloured box is disturbing. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Detail of eyes and mouth at 100% to show the boxes.
