Good to hear that this a rescue area. I guess my misconsception came in after seeing the geese and ducks around here.
Most of the public parks, and any other private lakes/small bodies of water are being overrun by Candaian Geese. They are very used to human contact and the ones in the parks expect food when they see humans coming. Glad to see this is not one of those situation where human contact and causes these birds to become reliant on human contact for thier daily nutrition.

okay....one more lesson on pets....chocolate is not good for pets......I eat it all so I don't have to worry about the pets getting it.....although I have been known to share with the grand kids. Now I might be willing to adopt you.......can you carry my camera bag? Doyle says if I am bring another mouth into the house, it has to carry "our" bags----still interested?

Gayle...some times we take the veggies but the bread is like candy so take only sometimes. I buy 4 big bags every Saturday of Brocoli for my own critters....they get bread or pancakes about every 4 months.

Jan....Doyle's fingers were fine........he gave this goose almost a whole slice of bread....The geese went walking off after they were done eating saying "did you see that chicken?"....I heard them say it.....that's the truth, or at least my story and I'm sticken to it.

Annemette.....aristocratic...you mean the goose right? Actually when the bread was gone they hung around to make sure we weren't going to pull out more and then they just swam back to their island.

Thanks Robert...these geese are actually in a park that is set as a rescue...if you look close at this one you can see he has a wing sticking part way out...it will not fold back properly

Mike. the geese are not as domesticated as it appears here. We fed them two giant loaves of bread and this was toward the end so they were as agressive. When I first pulled out the bread they backed me up about 20 feet. It has become a rescue area for them. There is a giant man made lake at one of the park and people go fishing. Some of the geese were pets that were turned loose when they got to big some just got lost and landed here and some are offspring. They have an island that is fenced so people can't go over and hurt them but there is a group that has a key and make sure they get proper food.

Gayle.........Doyle is not trained...I am still working on it.......close to calling in a professional. The geese were really pretty excited about eating, I had take two giant loaves with me and this was toward the end of the 2nd so they were not as agressive as they started out.

It looks so aristocratic and somewhat cheeky - I wouldn´t want to be Doyle´s hand when that bread was gone*LOL* I doubt they can be trained - maybe only if the orders are "EAT" and "BITE":-)Nice shot, Marlyce, with good tones. Best wishes Annemette

I know these geese can be protective at least the pair at a local park here. I did see them getting along with a Canada Goose the last time I visit but other than that they make a lot of noise when someone or something around. Excellent photograph on this one. I like the angle.

Very nice. Sad to see how domesticated these animals have become. These things were never used to human contact and now most of them rely on humans feeding them. Probably not what mother nature entended!
