Lucky Shot hmm - no - just kidding - its a great shot and well done. The Light at the front and the vapour fumes at the rear add a sense of drama. Well Done

so this is with a str8 300mm lens.. not a zoom as in the 28-300 that Canon make?? I am interested in going for a 5D (after what 20 years with Nikon)but was wanting a good road test on the lens.. which is just a tad bigger than my Nikkor 28-200... appreciate it if you could help me here .. rojpix@gobushmail.com.au

Very cool shot, well done! The composition is perfect. The heat haze and moody sky also adds it's fair share to the shot :)

The symmetry in this is so close to perfect JJ! Aircraft lovers will really enjoy this image and the fact that it was up and running and producing that lovely heatwave behind tops it off. Congrats.

Excellent Shot Jase! Look like something right out of Top Gun. Besides the composition my favorite part of the shot is the heat waves you've caught coming off the back. Great Work and a very well deserved award!

thanks Peta for the nom, the reasoning for the choice is

A portrait is a painting, photograph, or other artistic representation of a person or object. Portraits are often simple head shots or mug shots and are not usually overly elaborate. The intent is to show the basic appearance of the person or object, and occasionally some artistic insight into his or her personality (if a person).

I think it fits

This is the winning shot for sure Jase - a mighty fine display of military muscle. The You Yang Ranges make a wonderful backdrop too. Bad choice of project though - portrait? heheee, still I'll give you a 7.
