About I am really loving my new lens, wish I knew more photoshop now. I want that large format look! Would like to enter this into a portrait prize coming up, what do you think? I am fascinated with children & the importance of observing & reacting to their emotions, they are so very important to them especially & I pride myself in respecting that! (except when I have a big camera in their face, it was just for a second whilst I tried to comfort him) Enjoy, Mon x

Oh No, I thougtht you would love my big dof! i promise to impress you with my new lens, my attention was on the tears not his arm but if I crop it will be out of composition, keep watching, more to come....thanks again, Mon x

Thanks james, yep, 50 mm is fixed/no zoom, and I am very excited about it.....I love the ability to shoot in available light much easier now, with a greater DOF and with my film background, as in movies & stills, I love the look of a real life situation, nice & close and in there, just like in the movies. As Hitchcock said, cinema is 'real life with the drama taken out'! Take care with your travels, have fun out there, Mon

Thanks Chris, he let me take these, as if he trusted me, I was conforting him just previous to these images, and then slipped in the camera once I realised he was going to be okay.

Yake care, Monica

Oh.. This is better to see him smiling ;). What did you do for such sad moment, hmm? !
I think that this shot would be better if all the face was in focus. In fact the mouth is a little bit blurry by comparison to the arm in the foreground. This disturbs a little bit my eye..
Anyway this is a nice work Monica. Hope taht now He smiles ;).

Excellent image - very direct composition sits very squarely. You must be a very mean artist! Does the 50mm lense mean you don't have any zoom?

Nicely done, I too enjoy the intimate portraits, you have managed to really capture raw emotions...........though I suspect he won't appreciate it for some years :)
