Thanks again Christopher- I've been here in Manhattan since '76. I remember Swanny's well. :-) My husband and I actually had Swanson's make our wedding cake. This photo was taken at one of the bistro/coffee shops in Aggieville- formerly called Java but now called Bluestem Bistro. They have a wonderful bakery. It's right next door to Rusty's Last Chance. I had a weekend photo essay assignment, so I asked the owner if I could come take photos as they were doing the early-morning baking. I was trying to stay out of their way, so I captured images from some unusual angles.

Sorry, It seems as though you're taking me down memory lane here... I'm reminded of a donut place downtown on Poyntz, I think. I don't know how long you've been in Mahattan - but back in my undergrad days there was this place called Swanny's. After hoisting a few in Aggieville, the crowds would usually go down and wait in line for a freshly fried glazed donut from his back alley door...mmmm, good times, good times:) Nice capture. Christopher

Thank you for your kind remarks Riccardo. This photo was taken looking through the display case.. as if waiting for the goodies to come towards me. I don't think I would want to be inside the oven!! :-) Mary

This is a wonderful combination of the dynamic and the static. Excellent capture, especially for this category.
Abrazos,
