Last year I posted a pic of the mighty Illinois River all frozen hard and such and told ya it was very unusual to have the water so solid... first time in my life it actually happened... here is another first. This is a bit of my yard. This winter (2008) has been crazy... snow, rain, cold, warm, frost... snow, freezing rain, snow, snow, snow, warm... snowball-weather, rain, warm, freezing... snow.... My yard has 2 inches (7.62 centimeters[of snow]) and today, while stumbling about the Loy-Wood place, I slipped and slid and thought... "Hm..." and I chopped a bit and exposed some green. On the Loy-Wood place, this winter, we have the snow... and 4 inches (10 centimeters) of ice... A few inches of snow and several inches of ice... and under it all a sprig of Illinois green. The promise of Spring......
it is difficult to comprehend from our end of the planet and never have I felt the climatic differences more that since I have been on this cute little website. Its odd how we post stuff that is current and the Northerners all post snow and ice and foggy day types of shots and the southerners are all posting beach pics and so on (except me of course kekeke)
