I didn't exactly understand "the 'tog' of my calibre should not be worried by the difficult metering". Do you mean that we should sometimes also forget about "perfection" and accept also some disadvantages of our gear?
Sorry Paul, I try to get into such idiomatic expressions but the english language is so rich in such expressions that there are always many new things to learn.

Simple composition and as you say, interesting light. Good exposure on the snow which is notoriously difficult, but a 'tog' of your calibre should not be worried by the difficult metering.
