Hi Carlos,
Great picture. Hey I guess the place you are mentioning is now a days called Calicut and its in Kerala the southernmost tip of India. The city which is referred here in this picture is Kolkata earlier known as Calcutta. This is on the eastern part of India....
Am I right ?

Wonderfull portrait Suvomoy. The colours are nice and saturated. The focus is a bit soft however. Was this handheld? I noticed your shutter speed of 1/30.Maybe the bluriness can contributed to the shutter speed.
