Ali,I hope this a real Zucchini (small elongated squash )flower. for those who do not know what is the origin of the Russian names Evgeni for the male and Evgenia for the female,it is the old Arabic name of Zucchini ,Yakteen . Ali ,I will be ashamed if this is not Yakteen.
Thank you so much for the explanation, dear Saad; now it's more clear cos I was reading the pronounciation the way it was written in latin letters. We learnt about those countries too,on history of Central Asia.
So it means the word went on its travel and came into Polish language as the names I wrote have just small difference from Russian version; maybe they arrived when Russia occupied Poland too. We have some words in Polish which came from Turkish language when we had common border with Ottoman Empire, and some of these words are also Arabic origin, first went into Turkish and then to Polish. There are also words taken from pure Turkish... as well as there is sth left in Turkish language by us ;)
Hi Ania, about the origin of the word Evgen, first of all you know that the languages that we speak are derived one from each other no doubt. second ,at one bright time the Muslims have ruled the world from China to south of France and with that they establish their schools and colleges allover the lands they ruled. third, the word Yakteen (in Arabic we do not pronounce it as such) we pronounce it like the Russian with exchange of the letter G with the Arabic (ط ) and that is not the letter T. Fourth, the word Yakteen is a Koranic word and the Koran is a pure Arabic, there is no single word from other language in it. I brought this info from peoples who have studied at Moscow for five years,I asked them myself ,how this word could reach Russia, they told me it is not Russian,it is from the Muslim republics that Soviet have occupied ,and they are more than 6 countries, where their cultures are pure Islamic one. for your Knowledge, you Know the Italian leader Mousellini, do you imagine that his name mean literaly (The Mosulian )pertaining to my city Mosul ?that is another story to tell.
I think it is Zucchini, hope I'm right too, but there are two votes for this plant to be Zucchini now :) As far as I remember it looks like this. Very nice capture with nice colors btw! And I'm thinking and thinking and please tell me where is the similarity between Russian name and the Arabic word Yakteen? Polish names are similar, Eugeniusz for male and Eugenia for female
