ONE OF MY FAVORITES AND THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN IN THE SLATE PEAK AREA OF OKANOGAN COUNTY. MATTER OF FACT ITS THE HIGHEST PLACE IN THE STATE THAT YOU CAN DRIVE TO ELEVATION 7488 FEET. THE LAST PIECE YOU PARK (3 CAR LIMIT) AND WALK TO THE TOP. THE FOREST SERVICE BLEW OFF THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN AND HAS A LOOKOUT ON THE FLAT GROUND. YOU CAN LAND A HELICOPTER BUT ITS NOT USED CURRENTLY. YOU MUST HAVE SOME VERY NICE FLOWERS IN YOUR WOODS.

THESE FLOWERS ALMOST LOOK EXACTLY LIKE THE SPRING BEAUTY BUT THESE HAVE SIX PETALS AND THE SPRING BEAUTY HAS FIVE. THESE ARE MUCH TALLER PLANTS AND MORE ROBUST THESE HAVE MORE VEINS AND DARKER PINK. THE VEINS ARE THE DARK COLOR.
