What is wrong with prior critics of this picture? Lighting is OK , image is quite original and there is a lot of appeal too!!!!

John; I really like this kind of "sparce" landscape-- the small, lone tree looks "vulnerable". Composition is excellent and the colors delicate. While I do agree that a darker sky might make it more "dramatic", as it's presented here is probably more realistic in color and tone, and probably like you actually saw it? It may be that "dark dramatic skies" are being overdone? IMO.
