Sorry for not commenting sooner, I missed this shot... I like the interesting way you set up the foreground for this shot. And the sky color is relatively dark. Nice work.
As for "these shots were much better than my astrophotography", they ARE your astrophotography! If I get a keeper for every 12 exposures I take, I'm happy. If I get more than one keeper on a roll of film, then I know I made a mistake someplace... :)

thx Derek. It shouldn't be my picture that you saw in a magazine, unless it was "borrowed". But I am glad someone feels it is up to publishable standards :-) Maybe I'll send it into some astro magazines... see what comes up!

Very nice! I like this shot better than many other star-trail photos I've seen because the three trees in the foreground are so nicely composed, and provide a point of interest beyond the stars themselves. Good work!
