You can't look at this without smiling. You've captured such heartwarming emotion in their pose. Nice composition (although maybe a little tight on right of frame) and the lighting is quite good too. I like all of your portraiture work, keep posting.

Exquisite portrait. Innocent and engaging young 'models', beautifully posed and perfectly captured in glorious monochrome. Top drawer, Karen! Kind regards, Chris.

Karen; this is wonderful-- I love it! These kids are obviously very comfortable with each other, and their smiles are great. Also, the pose, the composition, the bare feet are really nice. A summer photo of kids that play together I'd bet. This is a "keeper" that can be treasured for years. Cheers. Craig

Great pose and a wonderful shot. works well in B&W. about your question on the zoom, I think the primes are always the sharpest, however the 80-400 is on my wish list as well. the 300 I got by trading some older manual stuff in down in Minneapolis. I don't have any high end big guns. I use an 80-200 f2.8, the 300MM, a 28-105 and my favorite little prime the 50mm f1.8 for 90 bucks a great buy in optics razor sharp. regards jimc

This is a great picture. The pose is great. Just look at those toes, they tell the story. This will make a great wall portrait. Great tones. Don.
About the IR filter for the 5700. Go to www.photofilter.com and you will find a set of 2 tubes for the 5700 and then you can get the Hoya 72 IR filter in 52 mm. Nikon doesn't make an adapter. I am still working on the IR. The images are a little on the soft side but you will work them up with PS. The IR filter is almost opaque so you must use a tripod and when taking landscapes put the focus on infinity as the camera has trouble autofocusing with the filter. I also take the images in black and white, but you can do them in the color format. I see you have the D 100. Do you like it??? Have been looking at it as I have some lens for the NiKon film cameras. If you want you can email me at dloseke7@yahoo.com. Don.
