This should get an editor's award because it's striking!!! I'm not kidding... it's a gallery piece - period! I would only dream of getting a shot like this.

I just had to comment on this fun image... it reminds me of They Might be Giants who sang;

To make the merry-go-round go faster
So that everyone needs to hang on tighter
Just to keep from being thrown to the wolves

Some days are like that... you have to hang on tighter, just to keep from being thrown to the wolves... now I have an image to add to the soundbyte...

Excellent capture Ron. Despite the harsh lighting, you did a great job managing it. I think the duotoning did great work to bring this under control. Composition just couldn't be better. I've seen a couple of similar images with one degree or another of motion blur, but I think the stop-action you did is much more effective. Great job.

Wonderful warm, rich tones that look like silk, and I love the light coming from above accentuating the riders on just one side. I imagine that this might look good in color, too. Fairs and carnivals are so much fun to take photos at and this is the time of year for that. You've inspired me, I think I will head off to our State Fair tomorrow.

I'm happy to see your work again, too, Ron. This one's spectacular == dizzifying! I think you really used the harsh light well, it makes the bodies pop right out of the sky. Great composition, too. I like the one breaking the top of the frame, and I'm also intrigued and mildly amused by the empty seat . . .

Very dramatic and dynamic. Helps alot that this is very sharp and has good contrast. Shame about the "thing" in the bottom right corner. What's a "fixed zoom", BTW?

A creative view which conveys the excitement of the ride. Nice tones and very crisp with high definition.
