The ditches do show up on some photos. 18297 and 18898 for example.

No! This is taken from public grounds. Schiphol is famous in the Spotter world for not having any fences at all. It is situated in farmland, so very accesible. Instead of fences, there are canals. But they don't show up on pics!

ps.. Wish I did work for the airport...

How is it that you and Jeroen Wenting have all the airplane shots, it seems that all the airplanes are in the Netherlands. I love airplane photography and this one is great. How do you have airport access, do you shoot from near a fence or do you work there. There are so many airplanes here in New York and three airports but it's impossble to see planes on the runway like this.

Hmmm, I dont know... In theory it sounded quite good, but when i see it, it gives sort of a cramped feeling. I think i like the "freedom" at the top. I have a similar shot of a SAS aircraft, will upload that tomorrow. I allready uploaded the United 777.

AFAIK KLM have their own photographers on the payroll, but you can sure try. If you succeed, tell me how you did it. I have 'some' slides of KLM aircraft as well :)

you have the space in front of the moving jet, which is where you need it. I debated cropping a lot more off the top, figuring you just lose the tops of the lights, big deal. But then thought all that sky shows the jet's destination, so why not leave it?? Hmmmm, or maybe crop the top of the left light off and just above the top of the right light, to show what they are? That might not be too bad.

Thanks! I posted it on a large aviation photo website (airliners.net) as well, and if anyone likes to use it, they can contact me through there. But this one might very well be worth contacting KLM myself.
About the wings: Because I've cropped them out, the image has the balance that makes it nice (I think) If i'd let them in, the busiest places on the pic would've been too far to the right, know what I mean?
I tend to do this kind of cropping alot when shooting aircraft.

Very nice shot!! You should contact KLM with this. Cropping off tips of wings doesn't bother me. I'm a journalist and like tight crops to get the reader into the photo.

Beautiful shot and razor sharp too. Love the colouring and contrast. Did you scan it from tranparency or print? If I have a critisism its that you have cut off the left wing and tail plane. Otherwise fantastic.
