Carole, Not a huge flower fan here. Yet I love black and white photos, even though my favorite color is plad (kidding). The flower is in great form! About my image Hmmmm. Not that I don't want any body to know, but it is sort of fun this way. If you really want to know, go to my portfolio, second page, I think the last image. Hope this does not spoil it for you, well or me. My best to you Carole! Gregory

Excellent flower for B&W very well taken. Nice details and nice light... a bit of more contrast is better...
enjoy, Tommaso

Carole, there is a little trick you can do when Unsharp Mask leaves a harsh edge, but it is time-consuming. If you zoom in really close in Photoshop you can take the blur took, set it at a very small size and around 10 - 20% then go over all the super white artifacts that create the harsh edge. Not many people would notice it here unless they were really familiar with PS sharpening, but there is a hint of it present. I like the fact that you've chosen to showcase this in a square and, as usual, your borders can't be beat. Is Gazania the botanical name for daisy, one of my favorite flowers? They sure look similar.

Nice flower. I know this one, well... because I know it I think the colour vesrion can be better from the B&W... this is hust my opinion and not critique using that. The photo is good with good clarity and lighting support Carole, so it is a good one.

Another PERFECT shot and image! Like it! So beautifully showed texture of petals! Such wonderful detals and strong/beautiful forms!
I do like gradient frame (it makes some 3-d soft effect here) and such soft lighting! My best wishes! ALexey.

This one is near perfect. I think that Massimo is suspicious of your using PS Filter/Sharpen/sharpen. It always leaves a white edge. But the image is really very good!

So well done. You can even see the sheen on the petals. Great in black and white. Very nice work Carole. Don

Sharp as a tack with lovely tonal range. The compostion is simple but the square works well here, allowing the eye to slide along the petals to the interesting pattern in the center.

Fantastic flower composition, Carole! To get a really good shot of a flower in b&w is a formidable task today ( they were all colorless in the past ... ), and you did an excellent job here. Great details, lighting and contrast! Best regards ..... Lucas

I've never been a fan of B&W florals but considering the project its for its quite a nice choice, lovely textures come up regardless. Not bad greenery for this time of year.

Nice composition, personally I'ld prefer more contrasted, but it's my taste of course, in any case the image is very delicate with this toning and has a good lighting, only I see something bright on the edges of the flower (sorry, I can explain better, hope you understand). Bye Max

excellent in black and white....though I'd like to see just a bit more space on either side...your tones and contrast work well and an excellent presentation...
