About This was shot about ten minutes before sunset with a polarizser and on tripod. I used a small aperture and focused at the hyperfocal distance for maximum DOF and a slow shutter speed for the blur in the water. Location: Chapel Beach, near Chapel Rock, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Upper Peninsula, Michigan, USA.

The deep blue sky is nice, the sunset colours of the nearby foliage is nice, but what really sells this is the way the waves seem to flow upwards and yet the level horizon is apparent. That seeming off-balance creates the interest here that sets this apart from other images of this nature, methinks. It's wonderous. It's organic. It's ethereal.

Hi Ken. You really have an eye for these classic landscape shots. The consistently high quality or your images is admirable.

Love the golden light that the sunset provided. I keep trying to find some constructive comments, but there isn't anything I would change. You've really got the camera and equipment working for you.

Thanks as well for all the information provided... film, lens... it all helps!
