*grin* Talking about being creative... do you have a dark blue, green or black sheet for a bed? I have used mine a few times as a bg... the green one especially. Once you pull the match further away and make sure no light is spilling onto the sheet it can look almost black.
Just a thought!

yeah, the bg was probably too close, it was about 5-7 cm behind the match. I forgot to add all the photodetails, stupid of me.
Kim, i'd love to shoot this in color, but I don't have a background large enough to fill the entire frame if I increase the distance between the subject and the bg. This was the back of a frame with my picture in it. Hey, you gotta be creative!

Persoanlly I like the halo. But if you print this yourself you may be able to do this by using the correct exposure time for the flame and match, then over expose the background by dodging the flame and match. Doing your own print work is a lot of fun but sometimes is just as frustratinag as the rest of photography and golf. Good Job!

How far away from the background was your match? If you can set up the black (or dark) bg and then move 3 or 4 feet away from it you should lose the halo effect as the bg will be too far away to reflect light.
Just me, because I love orange (and fire) I want to see this in colour.
