Beautiful! I used to model professionally for a few years. Im used to seeing headshots and ZEDs. this is a good shot. The only thing is that the eyes do have a little blue casting as Antonio said. Just use ps to edit that out and it will be good. Regards -Brent

I have a number of shots similar to this one and I must say I do like this style of photo. Your lighting is very good and you have captured the moment very well though you can see the reflector reflecting in her eyes. The only thing that I would comment on is that your model has a couple of blemishes on her Forehead. If you have Photoshop 7 you could use the healing brush to clean those up very easily. Alternatively the clone tool would also work but you need to be a little more careful or you can get some patchy results.
Good effort and keep shooting

This is a very impressive first model photograph. I think you were lucky with your model, as she has a peculiar intensity of gaze that you have captured very well. Her basically good skin and skilled makeup have come through very well, and you have used the dark hair to frame and accent that strong face effectively. I often find that a good portrait makes me wonder what the model was thinking, and that is so here. Is she about to smile? or to frown? It could go either way. This ambiguity adds an interesting tension to the photo.--not quite the Mona Lisa but a similar tension. It will be interesting to see what you do with a quite different model...

Aside from possibly softening/removing the few blemishes, this is a great portrait. Not much to correct or critique :-)

Robert, Your photo of Paola is great for a first try. I like the way you posed her and then used the available light to your advantage. The combination appears to have worked well. Thanks for sharing!

very nice portrait, there is some blue casting in the eyes, as I see on my screen and the mouth deserves more sharpness, I suppose
