Good use of DOF. Great colors, I love fall. I really like these old run-down shacks. Very nice!

Just throwing my two cents into the debate. ;) I don't think the sky is grey enough for a mood here. It's overcast white, so a higher angle of the building (i.e. looking down on it as opposed to pointing up to the sky), would darken the scene and make the woods and structure more moody. I like the trees and don't feel they crowd the photo. I love the building itself - such character! However, it would be nice to see a different angle on the building. Shot at a straight-on, perpendicular angle, it looks two dimensional.

This is of course, taking into account that you might have snapped this quickly as you were walking by! :) It's a great find - I'm always looking for something like this in my escapades into the woods. :)

I like this photo very much. Nature does tend to "take back" abandoned land, and the photo demonstrates that quite well. I like the orange leaves and green needles against the somber gray sky as well. Nice job!

I agree that it does *seem* a bit busy, but the "encroaching forest" adds to the deserted feeling. Even as intriguing as this building is, I believe it has greater impact *because* of the busy growth details. The colours are wonderful. This is a difficult situation handled quite competently.

Looks very painterly. This would be interesting if it was a wider shot to give a little more room, seems cramped. Hard to believe someone actually lived there once.

This is an extremely busy photograph and one that has huge potential but somehow it makes the eye grow weary looking at everything and realising all the colors are so muted.. there is no particular thing that stands out about this one.Sorry to sound harsh but it is my opinion.

Wonderful picture, Lisa. I like the muted autumn colours. I hope you took more pictures of this great subject. I think the grey skies contribute to the somber mood in this image.
