This image has a very supernatural aura about it. I guess when you hear a lot about Pele, it makes a lot of sense. Once we were at Waimea in the evening and this very friendly dog came by and kept us company. The locals saw it, and after that they were very friendly towards us. Not that they weren't before, but you wonder. And then somebody told us Pele sometimes takes the form of a dog. This photograph reminds me of that time.
