If you can just clean up the edits around the edges a little I think you have a real winner here. I particularly like the composition with the face emerging from the space between his clothes and his hat. Your sentiments about the person behind the mask also makes good sense in view of this photo and I'm glad you reflected that in the title. Thanks for the background as well, both the short and less short version :-)

I like the framing of your image and the profile of the clown. Good portrait of an unusual subject.

Great portrait! Realistic and artistic in a way that reminds me of Norman Rockwell.

Well ken ?.The story behind isn?t much?. I just happened to see Pjerrot and snapped him. There was no time to think of composition so the background is a mess and I cropped him , put him on a light background ? and a black background too but this is the version I prefer myself. ?..
And now for the little longer story??.
Pjerrot is a very beloved person we here in Denmark connect with two places where he is acting during summer time. One place is Tivoli where Pjerrot is acting in a pantomime ballet with Harlequin and Columbine and the other place is called ?Bakken? where he is entertaining children and they love him?. But when I saw him it was not in one of those places but at something as boring as a exhibition for camping wagons. I had brought my camera ?expecting something to happen? ? and there he was ? not acting ? but having a coffee break from his job talking with some friends and having fun. Having a closer look at the snapshot afterwards I liked it because of the spots in his neck without paint. It made me think of that there is a real person ? a private person - behind the mask ? and perhaps we often wear masks ? not as visible as his mask ?.. That we are another private persons behind the faces (masks) we are wearing unconsciously .
Just thoughts ???? are you still awake? (-;
