I don't believe this is a picture. It is a picture of a painting maybe. Sorry to say but I think the people of Usefilm made a mistake presenting you awards for this.

The editor has surely made a wise and right choice. In fact if I were in his place I would have awarded you with BEST PHOTOGRAPHER not only for this picture, but for all of your work,Rog and I take this opportunity to say a few words regarding my appreciation about you.
In my opinion, when you are really dedicated to photography a good picture comes out once in a while... or more or less frequently, but when a whole portfolio is top quality things change.
You are very skilled and complete, your eclecticism is stunning. With a camera, whatever it may be,you can do everything, any subject,be it plain or with the aid of a perfect technique in post-processing and charming effects.
Your eye for catching details and expressions never fails and if you combine it with timing, flawless performance and style ....well,there is nothing to be added.
The very best!
There is no flattering in it,this is my honest opinion which I have already stated loud and clear ever since I started to study your work.
You are an inspiration for all of us,thank you for sharing and teaching!
With lots of love, warmest congratulations from your friend Antonella

bugger me! Editors Choice eh!! Congrats mate well done... You have a way with people you defintely have a way with people. I cant put my finger on it..but .. your work reminds me of Roger Scott and Graham Burstow's it has that zappy confident fresh feel there's even a hint of Carol Jerrems as a sense of zeitgiest pervades..esp in the one you emailed me yesterday of the two tatooed guys.. There is a confidence in your subjects too that tells me they are quickly at ease with you...I might just have to bite the bullet and get up there to the Blues n Roots Festival and say g'day I'll see how I go depending on whether I am retrenched or not. Congrats again superlatives are exactly that ... mate well done

Roger Williams Roger Williams   {K:86139} 1/22/2004
Thanks for the panorama link, Roger. I appreciate the thought. If you're interested yourself I could introduce you to some oustanding work, virtual reality stuff for a start. But if Altaf ever gets around to putting up my "panorama" article most of the links will be there in it, so you might as well wait. Actually, I'd come across this guy before, but he cuts his panoramas down to a ridiculously small size. It's such a shame. I find it just too frustrating to enjoy, as I'm always wondering how good they would "really" look if I could see them a decent size. I'm going to start taking 180/360-degree panoramas Real Soon Now with a rotary camera! That should be fun... Probably won't put them up here, though, unless the pixel limits can be replaced with a file-size limit.
