My motives were not entirely altruistic in taking this picture as the subject is quite attractive... Anyway, she seemed so content, quietly studying in the student lounge, that I just had to ask her for a couple pictures.
It's ok, probably would have been better if it was more of a candid shot, and she didn't know it was coming, because you can see a smirk on her face. Almost looks like she's been positioned.
Jpeg artifacts. My camera normally does quite well if I don't compress the images, but... anyway. She smiled a bit too un-casually, I thought. Thanks for your comments.
Very strong image, Ryan. Good composition and colours. Well controlled exposure, keeping details in the highlit areas and in the subject. The backlighting works well and you've captured the mood of the study period nicely. Maybe just a little grainy in the face. (jpeg artifacts?)
