Beautiful B&W!!! the contrast in textures between the smooth sky and the rugged mountains sets the mood for an awesome photo! VERY well done!

Nicholas,
I happened to have my Nikon F5 with me, so I used its RGB meter, which I trust a lot. Thanks for viewing.

What a superb picture. The sky is really amazing, and I love what the light does to the mountains. Very good tones too. Congrats.

The true B&W art !! Even the poor 640K limit cannot hide it's incomparable class.

A lovely demonstration of what a 4 x 5" camera can do in good hands and pointed in the right direction. It'll be a while before they have full-size CCDs for 4 x 5! (Grin, duck and run!) I assume you used an orange or perhaps even a red filter for this? Which film was it, by the way? It would be SO helpful to list this information from the start...

Wow, just wait a second while I pick up my jaw from the floor.

Thats one hell of a dramatic landscape, the banding on the mountains is spectacular. If I had to try and suggest a change which would make it better, it would have to be include more sky and less of the foreground. just a little !!

but wow, I still can't get over thecload shadows..... I'll sit and look some more if you don't mind. WOuld love to see the original sometime

Beautiful B&W. Dramatic sky and interesting lighting. It's a pity it isn't bigger.
