Story line: somebody crossed the road at the wrong time...:-)) Basically, when I saw this, immediately the perspective meant a road to me - though it wasn't a road. I think that is the magic of this shot. I mean: the fact that you put death, litterally, " in perspective(s) ".

But then, I also understand what Margaret means by "busy". Did we need the horizon and the little house in the frame ?
Only if you want people to understand the reality of the place, but this story wasn't about a place imo: it was about life and death. So, I'd suggest you crop a tad at the top - no more horizon - and crop on the right to get back to a square format. Now, we have more focus on the story, and less on the place.

Then I have another regret... Did we actually need colors here ? What do they add ? Green and blue... very plain colors actually, and the only thing they achieve is to help isolating the "body" from its surroundings... I'd rather achieve this with the right contrast in Black and white. Why ? Because when colors don't add, they detract. And also because this is a dramatic story, and because B&W is the dramatic choice adapted to such stories - imo.

Last thing... I have this idea that heroes of a story can't be THAT close to the edge of the frame. Basically, I wish you had left a cm or 2 at the bottom, between the nead and the edge.

Now that I have spent so long writing this (! :-)), maybe you can do me (us ?) one favor: uloading the cropped B&W version - separately. I think it should be a great chance to learn from the new reactions you would get. I think the new version will probably surprise you... At least I hope so - or else I'd have written this for nothing... :-) cheers.

Oh my, I enjoyed this. Something about the afternoon sun that just makes this all the better. Just makes me feel a little miserable.

Thanks Margaret! Yeah, I was alone in the field with this unemployed character... Didn't have a great deal to say about his predicament, either.

Awwwwww poor thing. Makes me smile. I like the colors, even if it does seem a bit busy to me.
