Beautiful flower shot! I like the subtle lighting on the top and the way the filter altered the tone. It is a bit surreal, but that works well in this case.
It's best to have your background when you take the shot, which means a black backdrop. You can also light/expose the flower so that the background is heavily under exposed.

Great macro shot of a flower!The background, according to my opinion, is perfect.A small advice:If it were left space, that is more background to the flanks of the

Nice shot, Lori. FWIW, I get a black background two ways... use a black backdrop, or use natural light and shoot into a dark space (like into another room with lighting aimed to prevent it from lighting the background room). Lou
