James,
Nice composition. On my way home that night, I was watching the two and was anticipating photographing them. They were much closer on my side of the planet. But, alas, as I got home and onto the roof, Venus just disappeared behind a cloud: the moon was already covered. I did catch the pair earlier this year.

Very nicely captured. We, too, only had a breif glimpse of the spectacular celestial event. Thanks for sharing .
