Ah, I see what you mean now. I will keep that type of focus in mind in the future. Thanks a lot Daniel! Regards. Brandon.

Oh, please Daniel, no apologies! =) I didn't mean to imply that your comment was unappreciated. It doesn't bother me you altered the image either. In fact if you get the chance, I'd be interested to see what you did. You can email me at gothlordish@yahoo.com I'm pretty new myself, since about last November. I appreciate any little tips! Thanks again. Brandon.

Hi brandon,

Sorry I could not give much earlier. I had my son with me and your image stood out for him. I can't give much advice as I'm new to photography but instead I work your image a little to see if I could draw the attention to the moment of being safe.

I first tried to sharpen your image a little more. The added a vignette to draw the viewer in and then added some light to the base to have it stand out.

I hope it doesn't bother you that I took the liberty to work your image a little.

Saludos,
Daniel

Thanks for the comment David. I always appreciate some real critique. Ironically, I intended to shoot on ISO 400... Sadly, I had a stupid evening, and didn't realize I had shot on 100 until I got done... oh well, I'm getting in a better habit of paying attention to that. As far as pre-focusing, I do see what you mean. I am trying to get more practice with that. I must say that my level of skill at this point is fairly low overall... which is why I REALLY appreciate when people give me some real feedback... I mean yeah, I love getting a comment saying "great shot" or whatever, but I really want to do this professionally, and that doesn't help. I am realizing that I've gone on a rant here... sooo... Thanks again! Brandon.

This photo is soft and could be sharper for action and with that kind of lens you need to be shooting at a faster shutter speed.
Bring up the film speed (I assume it it is variable) most sports are shot with an ISO of 400 or 1600.
Pre focasing on where the action will be will also stop some of the camera shake.
Great effort

Hi Daniel! Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. The game was held at a local softball field near my home in Hoover, Alabama. Hoover is just a couple minutes south of Birmingham.

Wow! Nice shot! Live action! It's clear she's safe! My 6 year old son is with me and wanted to know where was this game was held?

Saludos,
Daniel
