Thanks for that. Yes I agree with all those. This was my first trip away with my DSLR - lots to learn from here. For me it's a lot about getting the natural light right and being aware of the backgrounds. Next time I am in Cuba I will hunt him down and make him stand in some good light! Really appreciate your feedback.

You have many nice portraits in your portfolio. I really like this gentlemen's charactor. You've captured it well.

I have to agree with Megan on the background. It's just a bit distracting. I might have blurred it a tad with photoshop too.

I think that I might have brightened the subjects face just a tiny bit too. He has such a wonderful face! I'd just like to see the expression in his eyes a bit more.

You have a great portfolio! Thank you for inviting me to view it!

:)Sheila

My favourite is the Debutante. It feels so South Amercian through my (Anglo Saxon) eyes - there is a kind of romance her that has been lost over time. Ih have had a look through your portfolio - your work is so innovative and fresh and you have an excellent eye for composition.

Thanks very much Beril. I love capturing people as they are in the street. This guy oozed character. Cuba is a photographers paradise - the people are so flamboyant and colourful. Would recommend Havana as a great place to visit.

This ones a dandy. The backgound is a tad distracting but I'm sure you didn't have much time to think about it. Maybe try blurring a bit more in photoshop.
I love his attitude!

Nice foto. Those shoulder pads are the fashion or is it ill fitting?
This sort of thing might help the translation. Copy the text, go to the link, paste it in under translate, choose "from french to english"in the box with the arrow beneath the text and push translate.
Simpler than it may sound. I sometimes use it. Some times the results make sense, but if not they're always amusing.
