I don't see how you can decifer from this photograph that they are "full of themselves." I am a former member of this organization and take offense to your "nazi" remark. The tradition of seniors wearing the boots dates back to 1894, long before there was a Nazi party, and the uniforms are based off of U.S. uniforms from the WWII era (go back and watch "Patton" or others to help jog your memory). There were 18,000 Aggies who served in WWII, of those, 13,000 served as officers, which is more than the combined total of the U.S. Military Academy, and the U.S. Naval Academy. Out of that, there were 7 Medal of Honor winners. General James Earl Rudder '32 led what is now refered to as "Rudder's Rangers" to victory on D-Day, taking control of key gun emplacements, and never relinquishing command, even though he himself was wounded. Sorry for the history lesson, or if I sound like I am full of myself, but anyone who thinks that the A&M Corps of Cadets are reminiscent of Nazis, needs to think again. I don't think that a Nazi organization would allow women and minority groups to become C.O's, X.O.'s, etc, etc.
I know there's a ton of history behind the A&M Corps of Cadets. And, as former U.S. Army guy, I really do like uniforms and such....but, I gotta say these guys look a bit too much like a bad Nazi movie!!! Nice photo but these guys are just a bit too impressed with themselves!
