About Photo taken on the night of May 16, 2004 while I was observing and photographing Comet NEAT C/2001 Q4 south of Ellenville in New York's Catskill Mountains. This is a three hour exposure with the camera sitting on a tripod with a Kendrick Dew Remover heater wrapped around the perimiter of the lens to prevent condensation of moisture on the lens. The red light is from the red LED flashlight I was using to take notes and to read my charts.

Sergio,

That's the most important part of the composition, the lone astronomer (me!) at his telescope...

Excellent shot!
I?d tint the red light in black not to distract.
Anyway, I really love it, as many of your shots.

Shawn,

A Kendrick Dew Remover heater was wrapped around the perimiter of the lens to prevent condensation of moisture on the lens. The heater was powered by a 12V battery that I normally use to power the telescope in the field, but since I had access to electricity, I used the battery for the second camera (the one I shot these start trails with).
