There is a nursery rhyme in England.
"Ladybird, Ladybird, Fly away home, your house it is burned and your children have gone."

I never did find out the exact meaning of this one but many old rhymes have their origins in fact. Ring a-ring of Roses come from the days when the plague was rife in Europe.

Gino, you are so kind... thank you! :-)) And I understand your translated words perfectly!

I have never thought of if google is good or bad. But there is somewhere in usefilm settings where you can type in what language you speak, and then everytime you give a comment to someone they get a button under your comment to click on. (But perhaps that is googles).

Kris,

"For some unknown reason this ladybug (ladybird) is more appealing for us than any other beetle bug."

Could it be the heart it wears on its wing as we can see from your excellent photo. You did a great job selecting the subject in an interesting environment. Nice macro work.

Veeery sweeet. I remember, when I was a kid, my girl friends used to release this Bug, let it fly, and beleived the their future husband will come from the direction where the bug flew away:)

Adorable photograph! It must be the ladybug's spots that make it cute. (and of course 'red')

This is a really delightful photograph, very nice composition also!

A perfect macro Kriss with the red Ladybird grabbing the eye. I really like the shine on the Dandelion seeds.
I think I would crop the area to the right as it doesn't (for me) contribute to the shot.
Regards,
Graham.

Thanks Hugo for being honest! I know what you mean, but this was really the best I could do. Because it was high grass between us, I had skirt, and only the thought of walking with skirt in high grass (insects, wasps, spiders etc) makes me flip out! ;-))

Very pretty little fellow. Your lady bugs seem to be more red than ours. Ours are more of an orange color. Nice detail. Don.

Hugo de Wolf Hugo de Wolf   {K:185110} 6/6/2004
Hi Kristina, Excellent level of details. The gossamer threads of the fluffy seeds are fantastic. I feel a bit ambiguous about the composition, though. Don't have a real suggestion on why or on how to improve it, though. I do think it is a bit "standard". The scene itself would be ideal for a different approach, but I'm unsure which one... I just feel something is missing that would add just that touch of suspence I like to see in photos.

Cheers,

Hugo
