Hi Linn,
thanks for your comment. Been away, but not away for a while. I simply had nothing to post here, but I was busy working on some family pics; these are not te be posted :-(
And the European Championships Football are going one, which keeps me busy as well, watching a lot of games!
The other thing is that I have been figuring out what new DSLR to buy!! I saw you were hanging around watching the boys toys? Well, I'm going for the Nikon D70, but there are waiting lists all around the world. Have to be patient.
Anyway, love your recent floral shots, especially the composition of three not-open flowers in this one.
Keep practicing PS and decide for yourself what's acceptable manipulation and what's not...
Regards, Jeroen

Hi Linn, I'm just a newbe with PS but I spend hours playing with it. Don Loeske (sp) has been a great help with borders and such. Some of the other things I had to figure out for myself. I have some learning disabilities that have just become obvious since I started quilting and using PS7 so I have had a very hard time with some things. But when I "get it" OMG it's just such an astounding feeling of accomplishment. I would love to help you get used to PS if you like. Ellen

Good Morning Ellen :-)
Thanks for the offer - I might just take you up on that! :-))
I never used to like abstracts, or images that were obviously PS enhanced. It just a short couple of months, I am starting to change my mind :-) and would like to take a whack at abstracts. I have shot a couple of macros where I wanted to obtain a more abstract feeling, but haven't succeeded so far. I know I could possibly do it with PS, but think I should practice a bit more, without going the "PS way" :-)
Earlier this week, I was photographing some swans on a small pond (at a nursery) and the natural oils on the water surface made such interesting patterns. But when I downloaded the images, I was disappointed at how dull it looked :-( Now I know that an image or two might just be something worthwhile to look at, if I applied some PS to it. Right now though ... I don't have a clue what to do, and how to do it :-)
Maybe I should just go ahead, try out a couple and post them? and get some critiques? Hmmm ... I trust that you will be one of my sternest crits? :-))
Looking forward to hearing from you again.
Linn

I don't take any backgrounds to the nurseries :-) My images shot against backboards are of flowers that I buy from florist shops.
I am a bit frustrated right now as the nurseries are bare of any colour :-(( We are now firmly into our Winter season.
I seem to think that now - when I get bored with the store-bought flowers and backboard - would be a good time to get started on abstracts
The people at the nurseries are great though - they used to keep an eye on me, making sure that I don't harm the flowers but we are now on good terms and everybody seems to know this crazy woman that doesn't mind crawling around on the wet muddy paving :-)

Linn if you weren't kidding about having someone fancy up your photos I'd love to take a whack at it. This is in regards to a comment you made to Chris who did the fish eye trick with the train. But just for the record your photos are FAR from dull. This Lilly is breathtaking!

Wow Linn, this lily GLOWS!! BEAUTIFUL lighting!! You're going to wear out that black board! BTW...how large is this board you take to nurseries? Do you rotate nurseries or do they charge you rent?? LOL
Nice work, Lori :)

Good colors and excellent detail. Do I see the flower floating a bit? (top of the stem below flower?) I'm teasing ya! Now if this was mine,I would have taken out the middle bud as it is too distracting. Just my 2 cents. You are getting better each time I look at your pics. Keep em coming. Best to you, Bill
