Amy,
I like the imgage but i feel it's a bit to cramped. Watch cuttiing off the tops of heads. If you would pull back just a bit on this you would still have the feeling your trying to convey just I think have a more pleasing shot.
As far as the exposure goes it's just about right, a bit of a hot spot on the baby. I would darken this image a bit. The lightening seems a bit harsh so maybe the use of a reflector to direct some light in the shadows.

i see! i would have loved to see the mother's eyes looking at her baby with a cheerful face. and you could have zoomed out a bit to show more of the mother's head/forehead as her face is the primary focal point.
actually, i like it as it is and -personally- i can see the WORRY in her eyes, even thaugh you didn't intend it ;)

there wasn't worry in the eyes of the mother.. i hope that is not what is portrayed. i was going more for a "calm" everyday feeling.
