There are plenty of places to shoot kayakers, but if you want some really great shots, go to the O-Be-Joyfull race. I don't know when it is but it's a race down a steep creek with lots of waterfalls that goes on near Crested Butte. Spring is the time to be there.

Funny, all you need is a scanner, and suddendly your picture is make believe. Or you can overlay the image in a lab. The only real difference between film and digital, is that what you do in a lab, we do in a computor. But, If that was all there was to it, there wouldn't be any debate. thanks for the comment.

Wow, intense photo! Glad you were able to pull an excellent photo out of a small mishap. The restitch is very well done, I don't see any overlap problems anywhere, how many photos are there? I am agraid I would 'girl scream' all the way down:) Excellent shot!

Tom, I guess the companies that do aerial photography cheat a lot or use VERY wide angle lenses ;-)

Digital v film... This is a nice photograph however it is not a single photograph but several put together. I am not knocking you or your shot, what I am saying is,with film you either capture the shot or you don't. With digital you get to sit at the computer and get what you wanted,if it was in the image or not. Digital v film... real v make believe. Respectfully submitted, Thomas Ziegler

Excellent stitch job and what a ride that must have been. Last summer I was able to shoot a couple kayakers between Loveland and Estes Park and I was hooked right away on shooting this action but it was at the end of the summer and I found no more. Would you be mind pointing me to a place in Colorado that I might find a abundance of kayakers? And the time of year that is most active? I will even come and shoot you if you like, what a thrill it was just watching this, I can't even imagine doing what you are doing here..... Powerful shot. Lee

Wonderful action packed capture! That looks like a terrifying drop. You did very well stitching these together. I'm afraid of water, so I won't be paddling, but I will check out your portfolio :)

Let's change that, Shall we? I agree with Robert, wird that this one has received so little attention.
Very dynamic and action packed shot. The strong light works for me, the shadows do create some depth in this image. Well exposed, and a very good shot.
Cheers,
Hugo

1 freakin' comment??? I guess the usefilm community just doesn't have the 'balls' to recognize.
As for the techs of the image, very nice stitch. Of course it would be nice if the light was less contrasty, but hey, it can't always be overcast when we go out with paddle and camera in hand.
I haven't paddled whitewater in a few years now, mostly cause all my paddling buds are married with children now. Not that I was good enough to throw a steep creek like this, but I managed to survive a few class 4 runs. Later.
