About I went to the Zoo today (Blijdorp, Rotterdam) and the animals were pretty active.
As the weather was dull, there was little light and this lion was quite far away from were I was standing. This resulted in an ISO 1600 setting to get 1/200th of a sec @ 300mm handheld. Can you see the noise? Yep, it's obvious....
Here's the resulting crop.

Happy shooting,
Jeroen

Prachtige foto! Wel wat ruis, maar dat geeft juist iets moois aan deze foto en de crop is bijzonder

(een wel wat late beoordeling, maar ik ben nieuw op Usefilm en moet nog heel veel bekijken)

The king looks a bit worried about how his photo is going to turn out, but it looks fine and the crop is very good.

I agree the grain is nice, makes the photo stand out from the ordinary. Great composition-his look resembles that of a wise old man. Good job!

very gooc image . . . . . I really like having noise in my pics . . . for this it adds to the "texture" of the beast!

This is a very nice pic. The grainy effect doesn't bother me at all. On the contrary, it adds a special, artistic effect. Looks more like a drawing or painting.
Good work!
Regards,
Martin
