Reminds me of "home" - I worked not 100 yards from where this was taken for many years. I agree with Mary Sue re: the crop. Also think this sort of image would work better if you had been parallel to the Guard, or slightly lower looking up. Would have made him seem larger and more imposing (even though they aren't necessarily in real life. Good colour and exposure - a nice image of old London. BTW - I see you're from San Antonio - been there twice and even have a video of me and a musician friend singing "The Ballad of Davey Crocket" outside The Alamo at midnight. A fascinating memorial and a nice town. If you go to Mad Dogs on the Riverwalk, say "Hello" to Julie from Ray in Hong Kong!

Good classic London photo. If you cropped just a bit off the top, down to just above that doorway on the left, you would have a stronger image. The top pulls the eye away from your POF. If you are a PS user, you might clone out the sign (?) growing out of his left shoulder. I like how you oriented the camera such that his weapon is siloutted against the white stone...it doesn't get lost in the shadows that way.

They are indeed not allowed to talk. I was there earlier this month, took a shot just like this (guess everyone visiting London makes one). Sadly it turned out bad, the kid looks so young it is a laugh in combination with the uniform. Yours looks serious enough to be a soldier on guardduty :) Great colours, good composition.
